Bishop Baraga Family of Parishes Commissioning Mass

On Wednesday, March 26, 2025, Our Lady of Good Council, St. John Neumann, St. Thomas a'Becket and Resurrection Catholic Churches celebrated a Commissioning Mass for the Bishop Baraga Family of Parishes. His Excellency, The Very Reverend Jeffrey Monforton, Auxilary Bishop of Detroit, was the celebrant at Our Lady of Good Council. The color corps for Pope John XXIII Assembly 1536, St. Francis of Assisi Assembly 2136 and Msgr. Schulte Assembly 492 were also on hand. [April 1, 2025]


March 2025 Plymouth-Ann Arbor Elks Veterans Steak Luncheon

On Wednesday, March 19, 2025, members of Pope John XXIII Assembly 1536 and other Knights of Columbus Councils joined with the Plymouth-Ann Arbor Elks and the American Legion to serve steak lunches to veterans. About a dozen Knights were able to join, a great showing to support those that served our country. The Assembly also contributed to help defray the cost of the luncheon. [March 19, 2025]


St. Patrick's Day Mass 2025, Most Holy Trinity Church, Detroit

On Monday, March 17, 2025, District Master Gene Suchyta, Sr. Marshal George Roumaya and other members of Michigan District One participated in the St Patrick's Day Mass at Most Holy Trinity Church in Detroit. Fr. Henry Sands, a member of our assembly that is the director of the Black and Indian American Mission in Washington, D.C., happened to also be in town for the Mass (as well as the Archbishop Weisenburger's installation the following day). The Michigan State Board was also present, and state secretary Charlie McCuen III took a few minutes to recognize the Color Corps. [March 17, 2025]

At the January 19, 2025, general assembly meeting, SK Richard Fullmerhouser was recognized as Sir Knight of the Month for January, 2025. [January 19, 2025]


2024 November Sir Knight of the Month George Roumaya

At the January 19, 2025, general assembly meeting, SK George Roumaya was recognized as Sir Knight of the Month for November, 2024. [January 19, 2025]


Greg Rapelje Special Recognition

At the January 2025 assembly meeting, Greg Rapelje received special recognition for his help with the 2024 Patriotic Golf Outing. [January 19, 2025]


Wreaths Across America 2024 - St. Hedwig Cemetery, Dearborn Hts.

On December 14, 2024, members of Pope John XXIII Assembly 1536, along with members from Msgr. Schulte Assembly 0492, Msgr. Francis F. Van Antwerp Assembly 0475 and 2136 St. Francis of Assisi Color Corps were joined by local veterans groups for Wreaths Across America at St. Hedwig Cemetery in Dearborn Heights. After the ceremony, 1200 wreaths were placed on veterans graves to help remember the service they gave to our country. [December 31, 2024]


St. John Neumann Patriotic Rosary, September 18, 2024

On September 18, 2024, a Patriotic Rosary was said for the United States of America, the states as well as those in political office at St. John Neumann in Canton, MI. Special prayers were included as well as a patriotic song after each decade of the Rosary. The Color Corps from Pope John XXIII Assembly 1536 as well as St. Francis of Assisi 2136 was on hand to post and retrieve the colors before and after the Rosary. [September 18, 2024]


2024 Patriotic Golf Outing

On Friday, July 26, 2024, our assembly held the 2024 Patriotic Golf Outing at Fellows Creek Golf Course in Canton. Proceeds benefits veterans charities as well Shades of Pink Breast Cancer Charity. Eighty golfers participated in the event chaired by SK Joe Bradley. Much thanks not only to the participating golfers but also to our sponsors and volunteers that helped make this event a success! Corporate Communion and Chalice Presentation, St. John Neumann, June 30, 2024

On Sunday, June 30, 2024, Members of Pope John XXIII Assembly 1536 Color Corps were on hand for council 16169 St. John Neumann Corporate Communion and Fr. Paul Onyebuche's last Mass at SJN before retiring to Nigeria. Faithful Navigator Ed Hurst, Jr., presented to Fr. Paul a Chalice that was passed on from Fr. Newhouse. [June 30, 2024]


2024 May Crowning

On May 7th, 2024, our Assembly 1536 Color Corps participated in the May Crowning at St. John Neumann in Canton. [May 7, 2024]


Good Friday 2024 Renaud Council Living Rosary

On April 29, 2024, Good Friday, Pope John XXIII Assembly 1536 Sir Knights joined members and families of Fr. Victor J. Renaud Council 3292 for their annual Living Rosary. The weather was sunny and mild, which contributed to a nice crowd for the event. [April 29, 2024]
